Cosmetic dentistry procedures make use of the latest technology and the most durable materials combined with science and artistry to achieve amazing smile esthetics. A beautiful strong, functional, beautiful smile can boost self-confidence and esteem.

From tooth-colored and gold-standard restorations to teeth whitening, veneers, tooth-colored inlays and onlays, bonding, cosmetic gum recontouring, teeth recontouring, and smile makeovers, Dr. Cheng has the latest and extensive training in cosmetic dentistry and works closely with talented lab technicians to meet your aesthetic needs.

Tooth Bonding

Tooth bonding is one type of cosmetic dentistry that involves the application of a tooth-colored composite resin (filling material) to repair a decayed, chipped, fractured, discolored tooth as well as alter the aesthetic appearance of a tooth. Bonding can be used to close spaces between teeth, to make teeth look longer or to change the shape or color of teeth. Bonded restorations can be done in a single visit and is an alternative to veneers.

Veneers

Veneers are thin shells of porcelain or composite resin that are custom made in a dental lab to fit over teeth. Like tooth bonding, they are used to fix chipped, stained, misaligned, worn down, uneven or abnormally spaced teeth. Veneers are bonded to the teeth with resin-based cement, and depending on the complexity of the aesthetics involved in the case, may take two or more visits.

Crowns & Bridges

Crowns and bridges, commonly known as "caps" are fixed prosthetic devices for teeth. They are cemented onto existing teeth or implants. Crowns are used to replace a large filling when there isn't enough tooth remaining, protect a weakened tooth from fracturing, restore a fractured tooth, cover a dental implant, cover a discolored or poorly shaped tooth and cover a tooth that has had root canal treatment. When crowns are attached to a fake tooth (pontic), they create a bridge, used to fill the space of a missing tooth. Bridges are cemented to natural teeth or implants surrounding the space of the missing tooth (or teeth).

Teeth Whitening

Professional teeth whitening is one of the most popular procedures for achieving a brighter smile. Professional teeth whitening can change your natural tooth color by correcting brown, yellow and spotted tooth staining. There are two types of professional teeth whitening: in-office (chairside) whitening and at-home (tray) whitening. We use KöR Whitening, widely recognized as the world’s most effective teeth whitening system. Because everyone responds differently to whitening procedures and have different case presentations, Dr. Cheng will help you determine what's right for you.
